Paper Mache Monsters

My Art II class started a brand new project this year that I had never done before- Paper Mache Monsters. It was messy, difficult and they had an absolute blast! This is a must-do for any art teacher in secondary ages who has the room size big enough for all the movement! We based our projects over the artist Dan Reeder. You can check out his website at www.gourmetpapermache.com.

Here are some of their finished products. They are hilarious and HUGE! Enjoy :)

Highlights From This Year- Annual Art Club Field Trip

Welcome to my new blog! My name's Mallorey, my students call me Ms. Rogers :) I've been a high school art teacher for three years. I have definitely had some ups and downs but overall this has been the greatest job I have ever had!

I wish that I created this blog at the beginning of the year so I could capture my students' artwork and their progression. But better now than never! So I will be posting some high-lights throughout the day of some images of what we did in Art I and Art II at PCHS this year. :) Enjoy and please come back for more!

ART CLUB FIELD TRIP TO THE RENAISSANCE CENTER IN DICKSON, TN.
This was by far the MOST FUN I have ever had on a field trip. I was responsible alone for 35 students who attended- and they were ANGELS! Could NOT have asked for a greater group of kids to spend the day. We did a sculpture workshop at the Renaissance Center and ate at O'Charleys. Great day!!!

Learning about the fundamentals and famous artists of abstract installation art.

Settling into the studio...

Identifying terms.

Passing out supplies.

Some of my wonderful seniors :)
They had so many fun things to work with! Building blogs, wood pieces, etc.

Sweet Farrah and Nicole! My two favorite girls!
